The oud is a root of wood (loaded with a fragrant resin) which grows on a tree in South East Asia and in Indonesia in particular, and which is widely used in the Middle East.
It is at the same time woody, animal and amber, the oriental notes of the oud resemble the smell of sandalwood which sublimates the rose, it is therefore more heady and more intense.
